Introduce a high quality automobile to the small vehicle range in Sri Lanka

Since 2016, the decision to purchase an automobile in Sri Lanka has been followed by a common quandary; affordability or quality? It seems that we must compromise on one or the other, mainly owing to the fact that most affordable vehicles in Sri Lanka fall under the 1000cc category, and this segment is almost entirely occupied by poor quality vehicles.

Among the obvious repercussions of tax increases, is the major disadvantage an average middle income earner has come to face. A middle income earner, looking to purchase a first vehicle, is now limited to an alarmingly narrow range of small vehicles with an engine capacity of less than 1000cc. The worst part? This market is almost exclusively saturated by automobiles that completely fall short of globally accepted quality standards.

We are writing this appeal to Toyota Lanka hoping they will appreciate the demand and the desire for an automobile that combines quality and affordability. Please consider introducing a vehicle to Sri Lanka’s small car range that encompasses the globally renowned Toyota standards; a vehicle that is regulated with high safety standards, good fuel economy, better resale value and Toyota’s reputed after sales services.
